About
Charm & comfort
Oakwood Shepherd’s Hut is situated under a wooded canopy but benefits from the light and sunshine from the meadows. There are wild deer, birds of prey including barn owls, buzzards, kestrels, and sparrow hawks and pheasants, which you are likely to see during your stay. We have pet ducks and 2 black cats, who love new guests and are likely to come and say hello.
A welcome basket is provided for your arrival with a few essentials, including home-laid eggs from our ducks. The picturesque village of Cranleigh is 5 minutes’ drive away, with a good selection of supermarkets, shops, pubs, cafes and restaurants, so it’s easy to top up your supplies.
Should you arrive at night, the path from the farmyard to the hut lit by solar lights.
The wood burning stove heats up quickly and the hut is well insulated with sheep’s wool, so you will be toasty warm, even in winter.
We built the bed high to provide perfect views of the woods and fields whilst staying snug under the duvet. There are 2 steps up to the bed providing ample storage space under the bed.
